Terms of Service

Last updated: January, 2026

Welcome to The Gloss Business Edit (“Business Edit,” “we,” “us,” “our”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our websites, memberships, events, digital content, and related services (collectively, the “Services”). By purchasing a membership, attending an event, or using our Services, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

1) Who we are

The Services are operated by The Gloss Business Company (doing business as The Gloss Inc). Contact: support@glossbusinessedit.com

2) Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to purchase a membership or attend our events. By using the Services, you represent that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide is accurate and complete.

3) Accounts

You may need an account to access member areas, replays, or the directory. Keep your login credentials confidential; you are responsible for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of unauthorized use.

4) Memberships & Billing

Membership types. We offer digital and in-person (“In-Person Chapter,” formerly “Hybrid”) memberships. Details, features, and prices are shown on our website and may change from time to time.

Billing cycle. Memberships are sold annually (and may offer an approved payment plan). If we offer quarterly memberships, terms will be listed at checkout.

Auto-renewal. Unless you cancel before the renewal date, your membership renews automatically for the next term at the then-current price. We’ll email an annual renewal reminder 7 days before renewal. You authorize us (and our payment processor) to charge your payment method for the applicable fees and taxes.

Price changes. We may change prices or features on renewal; we’ll post updates on our site and/or email you in advance where required.

Taxes. Displayed prices may not include applicable taxes, which will be added at checkout as required by law.

5) Cancellations & Refunds

Annual memberships. Full refund within 7 days of first purchase or renewal if you have not attended a live session during that window. After 7 days, memberships are non-refundable; your access continues through the end of the paid term. You can cancel any time to stop future renewals.

Events & workshops. Full refund up to 7 days before a paid workshop or special event. You may transfer your ticket to another person or a future date (if available) up to 48 hours before the start time. No-shows are non-refundable.

Limited-seat programs. Mentorship, Accountability Circles, and Hot Seats are non-refundable once your cohort/seat is confirmed, due to limited capacity. We will try (but cannot guarantee) to help with a transfer if you contact us 7+ days before the start.

Digital content, perks, and downloads (including replays, worksheets, and partner perks) are non-refundable.

6) In-Person Chapters & Hosts

In-person meetings occur at host-selected venues. By attending, you agree to follow venue rules and our Code of Conduct (Section 10). We may limit overlapping chapters in the same metro and may modify, pause, or discontinue a chapter at our discretion.

7) Access to Content; Replays; Recordings

For certain events we provide replays. We may record live sessions (audio/video/chat). By attending, you consent to being recorded and grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, edit, and display recordings for member access and promotional purposes, unless you opt out in writing prior to the event. We reserve the right to refuse or limit recording availability.

8) Partner Perks & Third-Party Links

Partner perks are offered “as is” by third parties and may change or end without notice. We are not responsible for third-party products/services, terms, privacy practices, or performance. Your use of third-party offerings is at your own risk and subject to those providers’ terms.

9) Intellectual Property

The Services, including all text, graphics, logos, videos, replays, worksheets, templates, and branding (“Content”), are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a personal, non-transferable license to access and use the Content for your own business or personal use during an active membership. You may not copy, share, resell, publicly display, or distribute Content outside your membership (including posting replays or materials publicly) without our prior written consent.

10) Community Guidelines & Code of Conduct

We are a high-trust community. By using the Services you agree to:

  • Treat others with kindness, curiosity, and respect.
  • Maintain confidentiality for member-shared stories and business information.
  • Avoid harassment, discrimination, hate speech, illegal activity, or solicitation of members for competing services.

We may, at our sole discretion, suspend or terminate access (without refund) for behavior that violates this Code or applicable law.

11) User Content & Feedback

You may submit posts, questions, feedback, or other content (“User Content”). You retain ownership of your User Content; you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, display, and adapt such content in connection with the Services. Do not submit content you don’t have rights to share.

12) No Professional Advice

Content provided through the Services (including workshops, templates, and Q&A) is for educational purposes only and does not constitute legal, financial, tax, accounting, medical, or other professional advice. Always consult qualified professionals for advice specific to your situation.

13) Disclaimer of Warranties

The Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that results will meet your expectations.

14) Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Gloss Business Company and its officers, directors, employees, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill arising from or related to your use of the Services. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid to us for the Services in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, the limitations apply to the fullest extent permitted.

15) Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Gloss Business Company from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your User Content, or your misuse of the Services.

16) Suspension, Termination, and Changes

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time for any breach of these Terms or for conduct that harms the community. We may modify or discontinue any part of the Services; material changes will be posted on the site and, where appropriate, emailed to active members.

17) Privacy

Your privacy matters. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose information. By using the Services, you consent to our data practices. (Link your Privacy Policy here.)

18) Governing Law; Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada (without regard to conflict of laws). You consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the provincial and federal courts located in Toronto, Ontario for any disputes not subject to informal resolution.

19) Informal Resolution

Before filing a claim, please contact support@glossbusinessedit.com so we can try to resolve the issue informally within 30 days.

20) Miscellaneous

If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. No waiver of any term is a continuing waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them to an affiliate or in connection with a merger or asset transfer.
